Used Holden Commodore parts, VT through ZB

Australia's most recognisable car, and the model JCS Parts was built on. We've been dismantling Commodores in Adelaide since 1991, and it remains the deepest part of our inventory — engines, transmissions, differentials, panels, lights, interior trim and electrical components, all tested, individually photographed and shipped Australia-wide.

With Holden gone and no factory supply left, dismantlers are now the only source of genuine Commodore parts. Most buyers save 50–70% against dealer pricing when parts can be found at all.

The ZB is not a Commodore in any mechanical sense

Start here, because this is the costliest mistake anyone can make with Commodore parts.

Every Commodore from 1978 to 2017 was Australian-built at Elizabeth and rear-wheel drive. The ZB (2018–2020) is a German-built Opel Insignia, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with transverse engines, a liftback or Sportwagon body, and no V8 or ute anywhere in the range. It sits on GM's E2XX platform, not Zeta.

Nothing meaningful interchanges between a ZB and a VF. If you own a ZB, look for ZB-specific parts and disregard anything listed for earlier series.

Three distinct platforms across the Australian-built cars

• VT (1997–2000), VX (2000–2002), VY (2002–2004), VZ (2004–2006) — GM V platform, derived from the Opel Omega B. VT to VY ran the 3.8 Ecotec V6 (L36, plus the supercharged L67) and the 5.7 LS1 V8. VZ introduced the 3.6 Alloytec V6 in LE0 and LY7 forms, alongside the LS1 and later 6.0 L76.
• VE (2006–2013) — the all-new Zeta platform. Shares almost nothing with VZ and earlier. Engines were the 3.0 SIDI LF1 V6, 3.6 V6 in LY7, LLT and LFX forms, and 6.0 L98 and L77 V8s. VE Series II from 2010 brought a revised interior and infotainment.
• VF (2013–2017) — still Zeta, but with a new body, electric power steering and a substantially different interior. 3.0 LFW and 3.6 LFX V6s, 6.0 L77 V8, and from VF Series II in 2015, the 6.2 LS3.
• ZB (2018–2020) — imported Opel Insignia. See above.

Body style changes the part, not just the trim

Across VE and VF, Holden sold a sedan, a Sportwagon and a ute. The ute runs a 3009mm wheelbase against the sedan's 2915mm, so chassis, driveline and rear body components are ute-specific. Wagon rear glass, tailgates, quarter panels and rear lights are their own thing again.

Trim matters as much. Omega, Evoke, Berlina, Calais, Calais-V, SV6, SS, SS-V and SS-V Redline differ on bumpers, wheels, brakes, lighting, seats and instrument clusters. A Redline runs Brembo brakes a base car never had.

Note that Berlina and Calais are Commodore variants, not separate models — if you're chasing Calais or Berlina parts, you're in the right collection.
