About Holden Rodeo
The Holden Rodeo has been sold in Australia since 1980. Originally a rebadged the second generation Isuzu Faster, Holden named the import the Holden Rodeo, and it became the first generation KB Rodeo.
In 1988 Isuzu released the third generation Faster, keeping the name for the 2-wheeldrive version and calling the 4wd version the Isuzu Rodeo, which Holden released as the TF Holden Rodeo. In the late 90s the car was sold with a popular 3.2L V6 available for both drivetrains, however the 2.8L turbo Diesel was a more popular for light commercial use due to the extra grunt.
The new Isuzu D-Max based on the Colorado chassis became available in 2003 and was rebadged in Australia as the third generation RA series Holden Rodeo. The vehicle came in multiple configurations with single-cab, SpaceCabs, and double cab with either standard height 4x2s (SL, SX, SLX) or 4x4s (S and LS). Initially, it came with either a 2.5L Diesel or 3.5L V6 petrol engine. In 2004 a 3.0L common rail diesel became an option.
In 2008 the Holden Rodeo was rebadged Holden Colorado due to the split with Isuzu and Gm resulting in Holden being unable to use the Rodeo name any longer.
