About Nissan Navara
The D21 was sold as the Navara in Australia in both single and king cab styling's and wasn't replaced by the D22 until the late 90s. Considered the first generation of the Navara the D22 ran as a Series 1 until 2001 when a restyled Series II was released with a new ZD30 turbo diesel engine.
A new, much more refined Navara D40 was released in 2004 with a 2.5L turbo diesel or 3L V6 petrol engine. The D22 was continued on as a basic light truck for the price conscious. The D40 came in two variants, the base RX and better spec'd ST-X. The D40 ran all the way through to 2014 with multiple facelift and engine upgrades. A Dual-cab version was released in 2005 followed by a single and king cab versions in 2008.
In 2015 an all new Navara NP300 series was released with variants DX, RX, ST and ST-X. The new Navara could also be purchased in the following configurations 4x2, 4x4, dual-cab, king-cab and cab-chassis.
The Navara now had genuine off-road capabilities and serious towing power in the 4x4 configuration wrapped up in a much more sophisticated exterior and interior package which allows the pickup to be both a weekday work vehicle and a weekend family cruiser.
