About Mitsubishi Pajero
The Pajero came to fame as multiple time winner of the Dakar rally in both modified and unmodified classes. This cemented the 4wd capabilities of the vehicle, and the motor sport success was used as for marketing the vehicle.
Early generations featured both SWB and LWB models and petrol engines ranging from 2L inline-4 to 3L V6, diesel engines were a 2.4L Inline-4 and later a 2.4L and 2.6L Turbo Diesel. The Second generation Pajero was almost completely new and included some advanced 4wd features and options for a more powerful 3.5L V6 or a 2.8L Intercooled Turbo Diesel.
The third generation V90 series added some driving refinement with a lower wider stance, better steering and eventually a more powerful 3.8L petrol V6 or 3.2L turbo diesel engine options.
The fourth generation V80 series was a revision of the previous generation featuring some refined 4x4 driving features, upgraded engine technologies and a redesigned interior and exterior. The Pajero also gained an additional facelift in 2012 before being discontinued in 2012. The name now lives on in the Mitsubishi Triton based Pajero Sport, however this doesn't share a history with previous Pajero models.
