About Holden Colorado

Holden Colorado is built by GM and manufactured in Thailand. For the first generation the Australian version differs from the American sold Chevrolet Colorado but is essentially the same as the Isuzu D-Max of the same era. The RC Colorado was available as a 4x2 or 4x4 and in a range of body styles like single-cab, space-cab, and crew-cab. Holden offers a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and the Australian 3.6-liter Alloytec engine with the Colorado.

The second generation RG Colorado went on sale in 2012 with only a well received 2.8L turbo diesel. The variants offered were DX (single cab chassis only), LX (chassis only), LT, and LTZ all either 4x2 or 4x4. Australian Holden Colorado's have a stiffer suspension than the Thai original.

In 2017 a facelift revision of the Colorado with designations LS, LT for the basic versions, LSX and Z71 with off-road packaging and LTZ, LTZ+ with a luxury package. Again, the Colorado sold in Australia had local engineering changes to improve ride and handling. GM ceased production of the Colorado in 2020 when it closed its Thai operations.

Holden Colorado 7 produced 2012-2016 was renamed and Holden Trailblazer for the facelift 2017-2020 model and were the same RG Colorado platform. These were a luxury SUV oriented vehicle with the same 2.8L diesel engine as the Colorado with LT and LTZ trim levels. The LTZ version has extras such as leather seats, premium sound and higher grade trim.
